Holly's Heroes

  1. When the stakes are high,
you've got to want to win.

  2. It's a team effort.
There can be no loose cannons.

  3. You need all players working as one,
    like clockwork. Like...

  4. Guys? Hello?

  5. Come on, Outlaws!

  6. Come on, Fraser! Quicker!
    - Keep it up! Faster!

  7. Up, go!
    - Come on, Walsh! Pick up your feet!

  8. Good work, Trish.
    - Holly, that's it.

  9. Up go! Keep it up!
    - Owen, you are not even trying.

  10. Walsh! Put some effort into it!
    Come on, ten more!

  11. Call yourself a sportsman?

  12. Parker. - Singh.

  13. -Glad you could make it.
    -Rams players?

  14. -What are they doing here?
-I invited them for 5-on-5 practice.

  15. Trish, Parker, Singh, Scubi, McKenzie
    - team A. The rest of you on team B.

  16. -Hang on. Why are they on A team?
-I'm the coach. What I say goes.

  17. Franco - don't forget I need
to see you in my office after lunch.

  18. -Holly, we need to talk.
    -What's up?

  19. You created the Outlaws. There's
an issue you need to know about.

  20. -I'm listening.
    -Coach Peterson? He sucks.

  21. He shouts all the time.
He brought Parker and Singh in.

  22. -Only for practice.
    -You're defending Peterson?

  23. No. He's our coach now.
I know his methods are a bit...

  24. -Harsh?
    -Biased?

  25. -I was going to say intense.
    -We're serious.

  26. To prove it, we're striking
    until you meet some demands.

  27. -Like what?
    -Get him to chill out.

  28. -Quit bringing in more Rams.
    -Give everyone equal court time.

  29. -I can't do that.
-We're going on strike until you do.

  30. -Think they're overreacting?
    -Frankly? No.

  31. I could've played for the Rams.
Dad is the reason why I didn't.

  32. -We're the Outlaws, not the Rams.
    -You sure about that?

  33. -You trained well today.
-It was good having Parker and Singh.

  34. It'll be even better
    to have them back permanently.

  35. If we're to win
    the Pan Pacific Championships-

  36. -I'm going to need
    the strongest possible team.

  37. -Who's getting kicked off the team?
    -The weakest.

  38. Don't get me wrong,
    I'm all for this strike.

  39. It takes good men to change things.
We have to take a stand.

  40. Does that mean we can't play until
Holly gets Coach Peterson to change?

  41. -That's right. Until the end.
    -That could be like, never!

  42. -We are but prawns.
    -You mean pawns.

  43. That's what I said.

  44. Call me crazy, but we could
turn this into a golden opportunity.

  45. -How can you think of money?
-No, Ralph. We start our own team!

  46. It'll be just like the old times.
No coach. No rules. No yelling.

  47. -I like it. I like it a lot.
    -We'll call ourselves "Team Freedom".

  48. It's not just another team. It's a
    new concept in sports training.

  49. Got a pen? Write that down.

  50. -You can't just start your own team.
    -Why not? You did.

  51. -Who are you going to play?
    -Details.

  52. -We just want to have a little fun.
-We're free agents. We're moving on.

  53. How about a smile?

  54. -There are a number of options.
    -Franco.

  55. Have a seat.

  56. Franco, your teachers and I have
    discussed your grades at length.

  57. I believe a number of them
    have already spoken to you.

  58. As Deputy Principal, one of my jobs
    is to ensure students-

  59. -attain a certain level
    of achievement.

  60. I'm afraid your grades
    are just not good enough.

  61. Hi, Franco!

  62. Was that your dad?
    Is everything okay?

  63. You can't make Franco repeat.
    It's not fair.

  64. -I can't discuss it.
-You want him off the team.

  65. -It's nothing to do with the Outlaws.
-He's a good student. He tries hard.

  66. He's failing in three subjects.
    History, geography and maths-

  67. -and he's borderline in biology.
    -He's failing?

  68. -Couldn't you do something?
    -Wave a magic wand? No.

  69. Look, it's up to Franco
    and his family now.

  70. -Hey!
    -It's Woolich's best coastal cadet.

  71. -How's school?
    -Boring. What's up?

  72. Replenishing the Caulerpa supplies.
    Dietary delight in Japan.

  73. Source of energy, nourishment
    and oxygen for these fellows.

  74. You could make a fortune
    if you could bottle it.

  75. Good job, son.

  76. I think you should quit basketball
for a while. Focus on schoolwork.

  77. -You love it, but school's important.
-You left school at my age.

  78. It's not about me. I know you.
    I know you're a bright boy.

  79. Focus on school.
    Your grades will get better.

  80. You're wrong.
I'm not as smart as you think.

  81. I don't get it. I don't get
    history or biology or maths.

  82. I'm not repeating! I won't do it!
    I'd rather quit school.

  83. Be cool. Be calm. What you're doing
    is absolutely necessary.

  84. And absolutely insane.

  85. -Holly!
    -Hi, Mr. Peterson.

  86. State your case calmly.
    You'll be fine.

  87. We have a major situation.
I need to talk to you.

  88. What's this major situation?

  89. Say it. Just relax and say it.

  90. Some of the Outlaws aren't happy
    with the current coaching methods.

  91. That's it. Keep going.

  92. A couple of the players
are thinking about quitting the team.

  93. Okay. Sink the shot.

  94. If you changed your approach,
    they may stay.

  95. If Johnno and Ralph are unhappy,
    they can leave.

  96. I didn't say it was Johnno and Ralph.

  97. It's a small town.
    From what I've heard-

  98. -they've already left the team.
    Luckily, I have replacements.

  99. -Parker and Singh?
    -That's right. Anything else?

  100. -My mind's made up. I'm leaving.
    -You want to leave?

  101. You want to leave school?
    All of your friends?

  102. Because if you don't,
I think I can help you.

  103. At least, I can if you'll let me.

  104. I could study with you.

  105. Just the two of us.
    Nobody needs to know.

  106. -What should we do first?
    -How about some one-on-one?

  107. Hi, guys!

  108. How would you like
    to be my first customers?

  109. -What is it?
    -"The Essence of the Ocean".

  110. I've developed it
with the help of a professional.

  111. -You mean Mr. M?
-One bottle will give you energy.

  112. Did Mr. M actually drink this stuff?

  113. I left him a couple of bottles.
    It's 100% organic.

  114. Very tasty, very nutritious.
You never see fish yawning, do you?

  115. -It's because of the essence.
    -She learned everything from me.

  116. How would you like to be part
    of an innovative basketball team?

  117. -What about the Outlaws?
    -We quit.

  118. -I can't believe you quit!
-Believe it. Are you going to join?

  119. -Sorry, guys. I'm pretty busy.
    -No, that's cool. No pressure.

  120. -Could you spread the word?
    -See what I can do.

  121. It's kind of like chicken.

  122. It's easy. You figure out sine-

  123. -by dividing the side opposite
    the angle by the hypotenuse.

  124. -Does that make sense?
    -I have no idea.

  125. I don't understand a word.
    It's like a different language.

  126. -We'll go slower, go over it again.
    -No. I've had enough.

  127. -It's hard being dumb.
    -Franco, you're not dumb.

  128. -Then what are you doing here?
    -I don't know.

  129. Neither do I. Just forget it.

  130. Joel! You're just the man we need.
Got an offer of a lifetime for you.

  131. -Three words: No. Rules. Basketball.
    -No rules basketball?

  132. We're starting our own team.
    No coach, no yelling...

  133. Team Freedom.

  134. -We want you to be part of it.
    -Sounds interesting.

  135. -You'll join?
    -No. I've given up basketball.

  136. I've been playing since I was five.
    Enough's enough.

  137. -Have you two been eating beans?
    -Sorry about that.

  138. -You mean, you too?
    -It must be Emily's drink.

  139. Deadly! Silent but deadly!

  140. -Engine trouble?
    -Stating the obvious?

  141. Mind if I take a look?

  142. -Accelerator cable is loose.
-Sure you know what you're doing?

  143. Try it now.

  144. -Must have overheated or something.
    -Or something.

  145. You might want to take it
to a mechanic, just in case.

  146. -Can we give you a ride?
    -No. I'm good.

  147. Start her up.

  148. Humming like a bird.

  149. Car's running fine.
The guy knew what he was doing.

  150. -I thought he was just a kid.
    -Smart kid.

  151. That'll be 80 bucks, thanks.

  152. -You think anyone will turn up?
    -Of course.

  153. -Half of Woolich will be here.
    -Hey, Johnno.

  154. -You spread the word?
-This is Stephanie, Sam and Pip.

  155. You wanted extra players, didn't you?

  156. The thing is,
these girls are a bit small.

  157. Do you mind? Some people
    are sensitive about their height.

  158. -Besides, you said no rules.
    -Em, it's not that simple.

  159. Not so silent there, Johnno.

  160. -You two are disgusting.
-It's your "Essence of the Sea".

  161. It is not!

  162. -How many have you sold?
    -A lot.

  163. Unless you want a hole in the
ozone layer, you better do something.

  164. Wait! Derrick! Derrick, wait!

  165. Stop! Don't!

  166. -Mr. Galluzo. Franco.
    -Mr. Peterson.

  167. I wanted to say thank you
for your help with the car.

  168. -No problem.
-My son is good with engines.

  169. -It was nothing.
    -The mechanic was pretty impressed.

  170. There's a mechanics course,
    part-time, two days a week.

  171. If you enrol, you could credit those
    subjects towards your school record.

  172. If you did well enough,
you might not have to repeat.

  173. Don't get too excited. Come see me
Monday. We'll sort out the details.

  174. -Thank you, sir.
-I'm proud of you, figlio mio.

  175. -Coffee?
    -Yes. Thank you.

  176. -Your dad came through for me.
-You came through for him first...

  177. ...you saved him a fortune in towing.

  178. Sorry about this morning.
I was acting kind of dumb.

  179. -I'd still like you to help me study.
    -Seriously? I'd love to.

  180. -On one condition. Speak English.
    -Deal.

  181. -They'll be queuing to join, mate.
    -Should we practice or something?

  182. Team Freedom. Do what feels good.

  183. -You guys here for Team Freedom?
    -Nope. Team Outlaws.

  184. -What do you mean?
    -You left. We're replacing you.

  185. -You can't replace us!
    -We can.

  186. If we run, we could probably
still beat them to the gym.

  187. It's too late. You're history.

  188. We're registered Outlaws!
    Those positions are ours!

  189. Coach Peterson,
shouldn't the team have a say?

  190. Johnno, Ralph. You left the team.
As Coach, I had to fill the gaps.

  191. I'm sorry. My decision is final.

  192. Coach Peterson, Johnno and Ralph
    are part of this team.

  193. -We didn't miss a single session.
    -You left!

  194. Technically. Haven't you heard
    of a cooling-off period?

  195. No, I haven't.
    Not in junior basketball.

  196. I am the coach. You left the team.
    It's very straight forward.

  197. Coach, if you think that Parker
and Singh are better for our team...

  198. -...then we should go with them.
-I'm glad somebody can see sense.

  199. I'm not finished yet.
    If you think they're best-

  200. -the team should see them prove it.

  201. A shoot out. Johnno and Ralph
    vs. Parker and Singh.

  202. Parker and Singh are good shooters.

  203. -So are Johnno and Ralph.
-If I'm wrong, then I'll leave too.

  204. What do you say? The first pair
    to score five baskets-

  205. -wins a place on the Outlaws.

  206. How did it come to this?
I worked so hard to build a team.

  207. My basketball future is about
to be decided on a few shots...

  208. -This is going in.
    -...by Johnno and Ralph.

  209. Way to go!

  210. No pressure.
Shooting for your place on the team.

  211. Oh, no.

  212. -Brush it off, Ralph.
    -What's going on?

  213. Last chance to keep
    Johnno and Ralph.

  214. -That's 3-1.
    -It's not over yet.

  215. That's the way, Johnno!

  216. -4-2.
    -Come on. Let's get loud.

  217. Relax, Ralphie. We can do this.
The ball's in the hands of number 23-

  218. -does he feel lucky?

  219. He does!

  220. Yes!

  221. You may as well give up while
    you're ahead.

  222. I tried to warn you.

  223. -That's 4-all.
    -This is the money shot.

  224. If Parker makes this shot,
    it's all over.

  225. Looks like rejection!

  226. -Not this time. Tough.
-Maybe next time - if there is one.

  227. Yes!

  228. Have a nice day
    - the Outlaws are here to stay!

  229. I wasn't worried for a second!

  230. What's it going to be, Coach?
    Push-ups, suicide? Crunches?

  231. -Zip the lips and start running.
    -It's good to be back.
