Holly's Heroes

Holly's Heroes : Create your own shotMaterialDela
  1. Creating your own shot
    requires some neat footwork.

  2. If you can find the right path
    and get around the obstacles-

  3. -it all opens up.
    You score every time.

  4. Just like life - only easier.

  5. It was magic. Nick and Joel
on court together in New Zealand.

  6. I can't get over Joel
    starting that fire.

  7. Forget the fire. Nick's over it.
    - Haven't you, Nick?

  8. Whatever you say, boss.

  9. We can get on with it.
We can be the dream team.

  10. -The Outlaws. Unbeatable.
    -Dream, she says.

  11. What's the matter?

  12. -Just maths. You know...
-It's good to see you're studying.

  13. -How's the ankle today?
    -Fine.

  14. Maybe it's time to give up basketball
    and concentrate on your career.

  15. -Basketball is my career, Mum.
-It's no career. You need to study.

  16. I can study
at the Australian Institute of Sport.

  17. I've planned to win a scholarship
    with Coach Peterson's help.

  18. -I'll be an Opal, play for Australia.
    -Then what?

  19. A few years on top,
and nothing to fall back on?

  20. I am proud of your achievements.
Now it's time to think of the future.

  21. -You're a smart girl, Trish.
    -I can do both.

  22. It's not very realistic. You're not
even playing for the best team.

  23. This is a wake up call.

  24. -Trash monster at three o'clock!
-Relax. We said we'd look after you.

  25. -I asked you to keep an eye on Joel.
    -I did.

  26. Then how come I've got a clip
of some Kiwi wannabe all over Joel?

  27. -No idea.
    -You're joking!

  28. It wasn't Joel's fault.
    She threw herself at him.

  29. That girl's just lucky she lives
so far away, because if I find her-

  30. -she's dead meat.

  31. -She doesn't know.
-Imagine what she'd do if she did!

  32. It'd be terrible for you
if she did know. - Right, Ralph?

  33. I'd hate her to see the full tape,
that bit where you take off the wig.

  34. -You wouldn't. I'm an Outlaw now.
    -If you want the tape...

  35. -...we get you as slave for 24 hours.
    -Don't be stupid! No way!

  36. Joel, you want to go
    for a training run later?

  37. -I've got a stack of homework.
-I can help you with that.

  38. It's time to get serious. Time to
focus on what's important for you.

  39. -You mean basketball?
    -Of course I mean basketball.

  40. Joel?

  41. -Going to training?
-No. I don't play for the Rams.

  42. I meant with the Outlaws.

  43. -Mum wants me to give up basketball.
-Dad wants me to keep playing.

  44. -Joel?
    -Yeah?

  45. About New Zealand.
    You could've told me.

  46. I figured someone would fill you in.

  47. -You owe me an explanation.
-I started it. It was an accident.

  48. It didn't look like one to me. I saw
the pictures. You can't hide a thing!

  49. -What pictures?
-The ones of you and that girl!

  50. -I thought you meant the fire.
-I care about the girl you pashed.

  51. -What's so funny?
    -Trish, there's nothing going on.

  52. -You were kissing her.
    -I wasn't enjoying it.

  53. As long as nothing else happened,
I suppose I could forgive you.

  54. If you apologized, things could
go back to the way they used to be.

  55. I'll give that some serious thought.

  56. Joel?

  57. Rams. Listen up. Gather round...

  58. I have an announcement to make.

  59. As of today,
I'll no longer be training the Rams.

  60. I have other commitments.

  61. -You mean Holly McKenzie's team?
    -The Woolich championship team.

  62. -Can't you coach both teams?
    -You all know Mr...Quincy.

  63. -He's offered to take over as coach.
-But Mr. Quincy's a history teacher.

  64. I'm Deputy Principal and
Head of Maths. We all do our share.

  65. I'll leave you in Mr. Quincy's
    capable hands. Good luck.

  66. Okay, kids - let's go.

  67. This can't be happening.

  68. -Don't you love relaxing?
-You bet. - How about you, Scub?

  69. -Should we give her a slave name?
    -How about Scuberella?

  70. That's funny. Honestly, you guys
are the funniest guys in school.

  71. -Really?
-Yeah. And popular with Year 8 girls.

  72. We've got a way with the ladies.
    You're not getting the tape.

  73. -I've been cleaning for hours!
    -Try twenty minutes.

  74. A deal's a deal, Scub. Get slaving.

  75. Cheers.

  76. That's terrific.
    Yes, thanks very much.

  77. The Institute of Sport is sending
a scout to watch our next game.

  78. -Great.
-Come on, snap out of it.

  79. -It's not that easy, Dad.
    -It's the fire, isn't it?

  80. You showed good judgement. It takes
strength of character to keep quiet.

  81. -I wish I'd have owned up to it.
-No, far better we kept out of it.

  82. What do you mean, "we"?

  83. I thought it was in your best
    interests not to say anything.

  84. You knew?

  85. We didn't want anything
    interfering with your career.

  86. -Why didn't you say something?
-Where would you be now if I had?

  87. -Not about to impress an AIS scout!
    -Dad, what are you saying?

  88. It was a childish prank.

  89. It would've looked bad for you - the
    Deputy Principal's son, a firebug.

  90. I do what's in your best interest.
Always. I do everything for you.

  91. Joel, you're where you should be,
    aiming for the top.

  92. Let's not make a mistake now.
    Eyes on the prize.

  93. -Why didn't he say anything?
-Easier to let Nick take the blame.

  94. -He's the Deputy Principal!
-Our father! Why are we surprised?

  95. Can't let anything get in the way
    of his son's career.

  96. You know why I didn't own up?
I knew how furious Dad would be.

  97. Maybe he thinks
what he's doing is best for you.

  98. -At least he notices you.
-At least he doesn't run your life.

  99. I know. You both better
    come and live with me.

  100. -Trish, I really should be going.
    -No, Scubi.

  101. -I want you to watch this. Well?
    -Well what?

  102. You kept an eye on Joel.
How come you never saw her?

  103. How should I know?
You can't keep tabs on guys 24/7.

  104. You know, something's wrong.
Joel swears he didn't like her.

  105. It looks to me like he's enjoying it.
    What are you doing?

  106. How could he do it? He's got it all.
He's going to make it to the AIS-

  107. -and he's going to play
    for Australia. What about me?

  108. -You've got Mr. Quincy.
    -Hi, Scubi.

  109. -Hi, Mrs. Jenkins.
-You're doing homework I hope, girls.

  110. Don't start.

  111. Look at her. Who does she think
she is? That's such a stupid wig.

  112. -Nice to see you enjoying the sun.
-If dad had his way, I'd be training.

  113. -I thought you loved basketball.
-I don't want it to ruin my life.

  114. -I'm not like him, am I?
    -You've got his determination.

  115. -He thinks he can control everything.
    -He mapped out your life.

  116. -Why doesn't he map out his own life?
    -He tried.

  117. -But he couldn't.
    -What do you mean?

  118. When your father tried out for the
Boomers, I was one of the selectors.

  119. When he missed out,
he thought it was my fault.

  120. -Was it?
-I was on the panel, but didn't vote.

  121. Alan blamed me. He thought
I should have made him work harder.

  122. He was a good player,
    but he wasn't good enough...

  123. ...even if basketball was his life.

  124. We've barely spoken since.

  125. -Gross!
    -Once you've finished that...

  126. -Any ideas, Ralphie?
    -My shoes need cleaning.

  127. -Who's got the tape?
    -Him!

  128. -We've locked it in a safe place.
-And we've both got a key.

  129. -I thought you had it!
    -You told me you did!

  130. -We feel bad taking advantage of you.
-We should call the whole thing off.

  131. I want that tape, and you're going
to give it to me, so I can smash it!

  132. Start at my place?

  133. Just sorting through your stats.
Part of a package for the AIS.

  134. Didn't I say hard work would pay off?
    This is just the beginning.

  135. -Dad, I'm not going to the AIS.
-Your confidence has taken a knock.

  136. -This is for you, not for me.
    -It's all you've ever wanted.

  137. No, Dad, it's all you've ever wanted.

  138. You want me to be famous
    because you weren't good enough.

  139. -Did you talk to your grandfather?
    -What if I did?

  140. He had no right to tell you
    that story. It's not true.

  141. -Why should I believe you?
-You've heard one side of the story.

  142. The truth is that I want
    what's best for you.

  143. I am not going to deny you the
chances that my father denied me.

  144. I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore.

  145. I'll call the AIS
    and I'll postpone the visit.

  146. No, Dad!
    I'm done with basketball!

  147. -I'm not playing any more.
    -Joel!

  148. -Hi, Joel.
    -Hi.

  149. -Have you given it some thought?
    -What?

  150. Letting things go back
to the way they were...for us.

  151. -Forget it, Trish. I quit.
-Quit the Outlaws? Don't blame you.

  152. I've quit basketball. Full stop!
    Just leave me alone, Trish.

  153. -I gave it to you.
-No, I gave it to you.

  154. Then how come it's not at my place?
    Think, Johnno! Where is it?

  155. If we don't find it,
you know what Scubi will do.

  156. Disgusting!

  157. Gross!

  158. Got you!

  159. You must be disappointed. I am.
Joel and I were like co-captains.

  160. We started basketball together.
    I can't believe he's giving it up.

  161. For now. It's a temporary decision.
    I'm sure he'll be back.

  162. -What was it you wanted, Trish?
-To ask you for special training.

  163. Mr. Quincy's terrific, but...
I really need to work on my game.

  164. -The Outlaws are a player short...
    -You'd play for the Outlaws?

  165. If you'd let me. It might convince
Mum to let me keep playing.

  166. I could talk to Joel for you.

  167. You and Joel
    were pretty dynamic on court.

  168. How badly do you
    want the AIS scholarship?

  169. More than anything else in the world.

  170. Put yourself in position
    to get what you want.

  171. That's with the Outlaws,
    don't you think?

  172. It would mean going on hands
    and knees to Holly McKenzie.

  173. I can do that.

  174. I wouldn't mention the AIS
scholarship to Holly or the others...

  175. -...or this conversation.
    -Thanks, Coach.

  176. -She'll kill us.
-We have to retrace our steps.

  177. -All the way back to New Zealand?
-Have you got a better idea?

  178. Doomed!

  179. -Here you go.
    -Wow! Clean-o-rama!

  180. -Happy to help. About the tape...
    -Yeah?

  181. Keep it. I'm an Outlaw now.

  182. If Trish is gunning for me,
    I'll deal with it.

  183. -Way to go, Scub!
    -See you guys later.

  184. -Who would've thought?
    -Good old Scubi.

  185. I've been looking for you everywhere!
I've got good news and bad news.

  186. -What's the bad news?
    -Joel is giving up basketball.

  187. -He's giving up basketball? Why?
-Guess he couldn't hack the pressure.

  188. -What's the good news?
    -I've been horrible to you...

  189. -...but I'm ready to take his place.
    -That's the good news?

  190. -You want to join the Outlaws?
    -I'm a ready-made replacement.

  191. I'll never be your first choice,
    but I promise I'll be team-oriented.

  192. I'll play wherever you and Coach
    want me to.

  193. -What's in it for you?
-I'll play in the best team around.

  194. This is too weird. The Outlaws
are never going to believe this!

  195. Are you out of your mind?
    Trish joining the Outlaws?

  196. -Joel's quit. Let's give her a go.
-Trish Jenkins who gave us hell?

  197. I know I've been difficult.
    Sometimes I've been a total...

  198. -Cow?
-But I won't be any more. Honest.

  199. -You'll stop calling me a choker?
    -You'll stop the Spamburger insults?

  200. Absolutely. Anything I ever said,
    I retract unconditionally.

  201. If you let me play in the Outlaws,
we'll be the best team Woolich has.

  202. You've given the Outlaws
a hard time since day one.

  203. -She has apologised.
    -I missed that.

  204. How did that song go again?

  205. I'm sorry.

  206. For being so mean in the past.
    For everything.

  207. -I don't buy it.
    -Let's give her a go.

  208. What do you think, Holly?
    You haven't said a word.

  209. Let's vote. Who votes "yes"
to let Trish join the Outlaws?

  210. -And "no"?
-Three all. Holly? You didn't vote.

  211. It's true that since day one,
    Trish has given us heaps.

  212. It's also true that without Joel,
we lack an aggressive tall forward.

  213. She insults us all the time.
    But she's apologised for it.

  214. So, with all things considered,
    I'm going to vote...

  215. -...yes.
    -A week-by-week basis. Trial period.

  216. Whatever you want.
    You won't regret this.

  217. I hope not.

  218. The more I scratch the more it burns.

  219. -You smell like tacos.
    -Tacos?

  220. Chilli powder in the washing!

  221. -Scubi!
    -Suffer!

  222. That'll teach them to mess with me.

  223. -What's on it?
    -Secret Outlaws business.

  224. -I'm an Outlaw now.
    -Welcome aboard!

Merlin the Magician
