Holly's Heroes

Holly's Heroes: Fouled outMaterialDela
  1. Hard to believe, isn't it? You make
one mistake and pow, time out.

  2. Someone get me a good lawyer.
A cake with a file in it?

  3. Get me out of here!

  4. -Last game of the season and we won!
-Nothing can shift us from the top.

  5. When we're in the finals,
    you will be looking on.

  6. -We're not out of it yet.
    -You're history!

  7. We could make the finals...
    mathematically, anyway.

  8. They live in their own dream world.

  9. If we beat the Jets
    by more than ten points-

  10. -the Wombats lose
    and the Strikers win-

  11. -we could make the finals.

  12. The Wombats aren't going to lose.
    Strikers haven't won all year.

  13. -Hey!
    -Grow up.

  14. How good are you, McKenzie?

  15. You make this shot, and I'll cheer
    for the Outlaws tomorrow.

  16. -Ignore her.
    -I'll shoot.

  17. -No, let me!
    -Well?

  18. -Give me the ball.
-From the other side of the room.

  19. Who threw the ball?

  20. -It was me, Miss.
    -Detention.

  21. -But it was an accident, Miss.
    -Of course it was.

  22. If it was deliberate we'd think up
    something worse than detention.

  23. Don't bother to clean up.
The servants will be in later.

  24. -Tell her. Tell her what happened.
    -Are you going to move?

  25. Forget it, Jacinta,
    I broke the window.

  26. Holly, detention
    is Saturday afternoon.

  27. Mrs. Rocacelli,
    I cannot do detention tomorrow.

  28. -She's got basketball.
    -Oh, basketball.

  29. I forgot.
    The world stops for basketball.

  30. It's a miserable world.
    Mostly unfair, too.

  31. You do the crime, you do the time.
    Here. Tomorrow.

  32. Trish, Scubi, a moment, please.

  33. Is there a problem, Miss?

  34. I asked for an essay
    on Leonardo da Vinci.

  35. I got some interesting ones back.

  36. Go on, say it. Everyone else has.

  37. -You're an idiot.
    -Thanks.

  38. -You've got to play tomorrow.
    -Can't.

  39. If I went back now, I'd be
still trying to get even with Joel.

  40. -It's about the team.
    -I wouldn't make any difference.

  41. Not for tomorrow. You're not
    the only one with detention.

  42. -What did you do?
    -Nothing.

  43. Someone let the principal's tyres
down. I was in the area. That's all.

  44. Miss.

  45. You're welcome to the car. I'm
serious. I could use the insurance.

  46. -We're relying on mercy.
    -Never heard of it.

  47. Holly has claustrophobia.
We could get a doctor's certificate.

  48. Do you seriously think I'd come near
    this place on the weekends?

  49. You are grovelling
    to the wrong teacher.

  50. The Outlaws will be down to five
players. I've got to skip detention.

  51. -Do the crime, do the time.
    -Yeah, I know.

  52. -So, how was your day?
    -Okay.

  53. -Spent most of it on the reef.
    -Any luck?

  54. -Yeah. Only the bad kind.
    -What do you mean?

  55. -You know what brought me here.
-Hermit crabs, tidal pools and stuff.

  56. A while ago I thought I'd discovered
    something. A seahorse colony.

  57. A seahorse colony? Wow.
So, why is that bad luck?

  58. My grant's up for renewal.
    If I don't find them-

  59. -I don't think they'll extend it.

  60. I might not be able to get out of
detention, but maybe I can help Dad.

  61. At least one of us
    can have a better day.

  62. -Hi.
-Hi. What are you doing up?

  63. Preparing munchies for the scientist
    hunting the elusive seahorse.

  64. Are you taking the zodiac car
    or diving off the rocks?

  65. -Zodiac.
-Can I come out for a few hours?

  66. -Are you serious?
    -Yeah. I want to help.

  67. I'd better find you a wet-suit.

  68. -Wait up!
-Why? It was all your fault.

  69. It was not my fault.
You asked me to do it.

  70. -What did you do?
    -It was research.

  71. If you download stuff and reformat
    it, that's research, isn't it?

  72. Isn't it?

  73. So, how was I as a dive buddy?

  74. You remembered all the right things.

  75. Yeah. I was hoping
to bring you good luck, though.

  76. You did. I'm feeling better
    than I have in days.

  77. Yeah, but we didn't
    find any seahorses.

  78. I didn't find any yesterday and was
depressed. Right now, I live in hope.

  79. -You'd better get changed.
    -Oh, detention...

  80. Holly. If I find the colony,
I'll take you out at dawn-

  81. -and show you something.

  82. -Seahorses get together for life.
    -So?

  83. Each day at dawn,
    they dance for each other.

  84. -Wait, you're kidding.
    -It's a scientific fact.

  85. That's so romantic.

  86. Make sure
water bottles and towels are ready.

  87. -What do you think, RJ?
    -I want it over with.

  88. Hey, guys. Good luck.

  89. Some teachers are on our side. Beg,
plead, maybe they'll let you play.

  90. Okay. I'll try.

  91. Time for a killer McKenzie game plan.

  92. McKenzie passes to Fraser,
    who creates a diversion.

  93. She goes out the back door
    and onto the court.

  94. No one will dob, will they?

  95. Ah, another new face.

  96. -What are they in here for?
-Don't know about Scubi and Trish.

  97. -But Joel's had detention for months.
-Why is he doing it now?

  98. He got a deferral, so it wouldn't
    interfere with his basketball.

  99. If it's good enough for Joel,
    it's good enough for me.

  100. Any teacher
would have to go along with that.

  101. McKenzie, this is detention,
    not kindergarten. Sit down.

  102. Franco. Roll off me, don't tiptoe
    around me. I'm not breakable.

  103. -I said this was a bad idea.
    -Could work.

  104. While the opposition are laughing,
    we might score.

  105. Work on screen and roll. But
don't use it till the second half.

  106. It can be our... Secret weapon.

  107. -We are doomed!
-This team earned respect this year.

  108. Are you going to give that up?

  109. She's right. Who knows?
    Holly might still come through.

  110. -A what?
    -Postponement, Sir. Like Joel.

  111. -Who deferred your detention?
    -Mr. Weston.

  112. What other teachers choose to do
    is no concern of mine.

  113. I don't put basketball first.
You earned detention, you serve it.

  114. -Something amusing, Berger?
    -If you play basketball, Sir...

  115. -...does that make you a basket case?
    -Don't push your luck.

  116. I want essays. One thousand words on
    "The error of my ways".

  117. We're on!

  118. -She's not coming.
-We can do it without her.

  119. Jacinta,
blow all the trumpets you want.

  120. Without Holly, we're between a
big brick wall and a runaway tractor.

  121. -Doomed.
    -Time to play!

  122. Come on!

  123. "I would never - no, not ever - put
    basketball ahead of school rules."

  124. What do we think, Joel?
Do we believe Daddy or not?

  125. Jo-el. What kind of name is that?
    Is that Superman's sister?

  126. -Shut your face.
    -Sounded like a threat.

  127. -Makes a guy think twice.
-Someone wants to rub it in.

  128. -Outlaws 2, Jets 11.
    -It's not a game. It's a shame.

  129. This is great! Look at the guy.
    That is a sad case.

  130. You're pathetic, Berger.

  131. Your coach is tearing a cardboard
    flag in half. That's pathetic.

  132. I could spell out the values
Coach Peterson passed on to us-

  133. -but you wouldn't get it.

  134. I never thought of it that way,
Trish. The way you put it...golly!

  135. I think I can see
    the error of my ways.

  136. Maybe I can write that essay
    for Coach Peterson after all.

  137. Okay. All right. Games, games.
    Who likes games?

  138. Want to guess
    why Trishie got detention?

  139. Come on.
She's got values from Coach Peterson.

  140. So what's she doing here?
    Aren't you even curious?

  141. Anyone?

  142. Time's up. A teacher can't
    just give you a detention.

  143. They have to spell out why in the
detention book. It looks like this.

  144. A guy's got to have something
to read. Private? Not any more.

  145. Patricia Jenkins,
    Saturday detention. Crime? Cheating.

  146. She and Scubi ripped stuff off the
internet to save writing an essay.

  147. I thought it was research.
    I'm not a cheat.

  148. When two chicks hang out, there's a
good looking one and the other one.

  149. The way you were talking about
values, I thought I was missing out.

  150. So it's a relief to find out
you are just like the rest of us.

  151. You're losing eye contact. After I
pass, get close and brush against me.

  152. -How are the Strikers doing?
    -Who cares?

  153. Go!
Cool! Now you're getting the idea.

  154. -Hi, guys.
    -Holly's not here, Mr. McKenzie.

  155. I came to support the team.
    - Not going well, Max?

  156. Strategy. We've lulled the opposition
into a false sense of security.

  157. They think we're no good. They
even think we've turned it up.

  158. I heard their coach calling
    you lot the Woolich Wimps.

  159. If you want to use it, I reckon
you've got the element of surprise.

  160. -Payback time.
    -Nobody calls me a wimp.

  161. Ralph, my man.
    Let's turn up the heat.

  162. -When you're doomed...
    -The "d" word is forbidden!

  163. Let's turn this around.
    As Holly would say:

  164. -Kia kaha!
-Monique, does Holly know the score?

  165. I put it up on the flagpole,
but Mr. Peterson tore it down.

  166. Right, we'll see about that.

  167. -Any chance of finding out scores?
-Don't be ridiculous. Do your work.

  168. -You knew what he'd say.
-I just wanted to hear him say it.

  169. Did the big bad teacher
    take away Holly's ball?

  170. You come from some hick country,
    that's how you get treated.

  171. Relax. Besides, what does
    Berger know about New Zealand?

  172. He's still trying to work out
    the bus fare to school.

  173. Nick Fraser makes his move!
Think you're up to it, Nicky?

  174. Don't you get bored
    listening to yourself?

  175. All right, now. Let's be honest.

  176. Fraser is not in the
    same league as you guys.

  177. You two are greasy cheats, McKenzie's
a vandal and Joel, Mr. Punctuality.

  178. Still trying to figure out
    how to tell time, Joel?

  179. But this boy torched a building
    and got away with it.

  180. This is a bad boy. What's the matter,
    tough guy? Nothing to say?

  181. Big man with matches. But you're
really as gutless as the rest.

  182. -Looks like you got the score.
    -They're getting slaughtered.

  183. Who says she would've
    made a difference anyway?

  184. -Why let Berger put you down?
    -Because it doesn't matter.

  185. It matters. Make Joel face the truth.
    He burnt down the hall.

  186. He'd deny it.
I'm the only one that knows.

  187. The truth is meant to be said,
even if no one believes it.

  188. Are you going to tell?

  189. I promised you I wouldn't.

  190. -What's the score on the Strikers?
    -Mr. McKenzie's finding out.

  191. -Get back.
    -But unless the Strikers...

  192. Never mind the other games.
Get back and win this one.

  193. -How are the Strikers doing?
    -They've hit the front.

  194. -And the Outlaws?
-Jacinta and Franco are on a roll.

  195. A screen and roll.

  196. I've got to find out
    what's happening down there.

  197. We know what's happening.
Your team is getting its butt kicked.

  198. Sit down. Peterson'll spring you.
    You don't want extra detention.

  199. Let her do it. Are you her mother?

  200. -You know everything?
-Believe it, Bozo. Berger knows all.

  201. I don't care. Talk about
    burning buildings, I'll laugh.

  202. Make it hard for my friends,
I'll make it hard for you.

  203. Gee, Nick. If you don't care,
    I am powerless.

  204. -Your wings are a shield of steel.
    -Give it a rest.

  205. I can't talk about matches,
    you don't care.

  206. Can't slag off your friends,
    you've got none.

  207. Except for Hollyanna,
    but she's another loser.

  208. What can we talk about? I know! Let's
talk about Nick's two years off.

  209. They can't prove he torched the
centre, so Nick gets sent to mummy.

  210. You weren't here. Nick's mummy
    and daddy don't live together.

  211. -Shut up, Berger.
    -You're such a creep.

  212. He brought this on.
He wanted to be a big man.

  213. He's back because his
    mum's somewhere off in Spain.

  214. Nick is back here because
he has got nowhere else to go.

  215. Don't worry about me. What could
I do that they haven't done already?

  216. -Some friend. She thinks it's funny.
    -Oh, no. It's you.

  217. -The joke. It's on you.
    -Ah, since when?

  218. Well, Berger knows all, right?
    And we know nothing.

  219. Except for one thing.
    I know why you're here.

  220. -Big deal.
-That's why the joke's on you.

  221. You're in detention because you've
really got nowhere else to go.

  222. -If it wasn't funny, it'd be sad.
-Don't try to psych me out.

  223. -You've got no chance.
    -All right then.

  224. Guys, help me out.
    Who are his friends?

  225. We know Berger doesn't participate
in sports. What does he do?

  226. -Nothing. He's got nothing.
-I'm not a lab rat, okay?

  227. I don't put a ball through a hoop.
    I do my own thing.

  228. Ah... Who are you kidding?

  229. The teachers send you to detention
    because you're a pain.

  230. -And that suits you.
    -What is he doing?

  231. Is that your father?

  232. He taught me semaphore once,
he probably thinks I remember it.

  233. -What is that? O... U?
    -Outlaws.

  234. Oh! Okay. Tell me the score.

  235. No, Tell me! I can't stand this,
I've got to get down there.

  236. -I don't care, I should be there.
    -Don't do it.

  237. Sit down, all of you. Unless you'd
like to repeat detention next week.

  238. 10 minutes to finish your essays.

  239. Holly! We won! Holly! Holly!

  240. We won! We won by eleven points!

  241. -It's not just that we won.
    -The Strikers too.

  242. -And if the Wombats lose...
    -We'll be in the finals!

  243. The Wombats aren't going to lose.
    But go ahead, dream on.

  244. It'll hurt a little more
    when it doesn't happen.

  245. Whatever, Trish.

  246. -Semaphore?
-I thought you knew it by heart.

  247. Thanks for being the scoreboard, Dad.

  248. Getting Berger off my back took guts.

  249. I wasn't calling you a coward.

  250. I don't like what people think of me,
but I can't fix it by accusing Joel.

  251. There is something I can fix. How
about I come back to the Outlaws?

  252. -But I thought you said...
-I had a good reason for leaving.

  253. But I've got
a better one to come back.

  254. Being on the same team as you.

  255. Less than half a minute to go.
Wombats are two points in front.

  256. Come on, Giants!

  257. Wombats shoot. Miss. Giants get
the rebound. 10 seconds to go.

  258. Wombats go full-court press. Giants
can't get a shot. Five seconds...

  259. -Four... three... they shoot!
    -What?

  260. It's in. It's a three-pointer!
The Giants have beaten the Wombats!

  261. -We're in the finals!
    -We made it.

  262. Sometimes, the best game is the one
you've never played - never even saw.

  263. Sometimes winning
    is a million-to-one shot.

  264. Sometimes,
    the seahorses dance at dawn.

  265. If your luck's in.
